I recently came across Where The Green Ants Dream, a film by Werner Herzog, set in the Australian outback. Released in 1984, it tells the story of a feud between a mining company and the local Aborigines, who are trying to protect a sacred area of land that was said to have the potential to destroy humanity if disturbed. Despite being a fictional work by Herzog, It’s amazing and depressing how relevant this film is today, almost 30 years later. Check out a scene from Where The Green Ants Dream here.
